Welcome!  I'm happy you stopped by.  I hope that you find something useful here to aid you on your journey!

December 8

While the calendar doesn't say that winter has arrived, it certainly feels like it has here in northeast Kansas.  We had our first snowfall in October, and we have had five days with snow, so far.  That includes 8" of snow on Thanksgiving weekend.

Instead of complaining about the weather, I try to give thanks for whatever we are sent, and make the best of it.  A good snow day is an excellent reason to stay home, put a fire in the wood stove, and make Christmas cookies to eat when we drink our cocoa!  At least we can all be together as a family.  As the kids get older, that special time together gets even more valuable.

The Christmas season is approaching.  We have lit the first of the Advent candles and the kids are getting excited.  I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the holiday, too!

About me:

My name is Theresa, aka "Tree" to some longtime friends and a few relatives.

I'm a (mostly) stay-at-home-mom of two.  My passions include my family, my faith, and living in a simple manner that respects the blessings we have been given.

There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.  People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  But when these signs begin to happen,
stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.
